Headteacher's Welcome

A warm welcome from our Headteacher, Mrs Jo Blakeman

Dear Parents,

It is a great pleasure and privilege to introduce myself as headteacher of Highley Primary. I am delighted to be part of the team here and am very excited about working at this vibrant and friendly school.

On behalf of the children, staff and governors, I would like to warmly welcome you to Highley Primary School's website. Highley Primary is committed to inclusive education and meeting the needs of all of the children in our care.

We aim to empower children by helping them to understand that there is no such thing as failure. Mistakes are positive and we need to make them, and plenty of them, if we are to progress in our learning. Our philosophy is to 'never give up' - nothing worth having was ever achieved without effort!

We strive to provide a lively, creative and motivating curriculum. Our greatest resource is our staff who all work tirelessly to provide the best teaching and learning experience for every child.

We encourage children to be responsible and independent - increasing expectations of independence as they progress through the school to help them on their journey to adulthood.

I have high expectations of everyone. All are expected to be 'the best we can be'. There are no exceptions - staff, governors and children alike. Please support us in our aims by helping children to be reslilient and develop their perseverance at home.

We hope that Highley Community Primary enjoys a long and successful working relationship with you and your child.

If you would like to visit Highley Primary in its beautiful rural setting, please contact the office to arrange a visit. You will be warmly welcomed.

I very much look forward to meeting you and your children.

Jo Blakeman
