Message from the Chair of Governors
On behalf of my fellow Governors, I would like to offer a warm welcome to you and your child from Highley Community Primary School.
When you look at the information provided on our website I am sure you will agree that everyone involved with the school makes strenuous efforts to ensure that each child in our care receives the very best start in life, both educationally and socially.
Highley School changes every year as children leave and new children arrive, it is the Governors’ task to ensure that plans are in place to support those changes.
As part of our involvement, we have a named governor linked with each area of the curriculum. We visit the school on a regular basis, liaising with the teaching staff and asking challenging questions to ensure that the school is always looking to maximise each child’s progress and potential and reporting back to the wider governing body at regular intervals.
Several of our number are specifically designated as ‘Parent Governors’ and part of their responsibility is to be ready and available for you to contact, they are happy to listen and respond.
Your role, as a parent/carer, will be to help and support the teachers and staff who are primarily responsible for your child’s progress. This will include letting us know about any worries you may have, or any ideas that could make the school an even better place in which the children can learn.
We do hope that your child will not only thrive educationally during their time at Highley but thoroughly enjoy the process, delighting in being part of our school community, and creating positive memories which will last them for the rest of their life.
